THE ROLE

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will have primary responsibility for  financial reporting within Rated People, aiding the Financial Controller with a wide range of finance and accounting activities, with the opportunity to assume a greater degree of responsibility over time and growth with the business.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • End to end preparation of monthly management accounts within tight month end deadlines; 
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis; 
  • Working with departmental heads on monthly numbers and forecasts, monitoring actual spend against budget and reporting on any expenditure variances; 
  • Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts; 
  • Managing Accounts Payable 
  • Cash & credit card expense processing; 
  • Preparation of financial reporting for external stakeholders; 
  • On-going report and process development; 
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

ABOUT YOU

This role is perfect for someone who has experience working in a startup environment or is looking to join a high growth, fast paced market leader. We are looking for someone who is passionate about finance and accounting, with good excel skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Part qualified management accountant, continuing with their studies;
  • Previous Management Accounting experience (Would be preferred);
  • Great communicator, able to translate finance jargon to non-finance staff members and have the confidence to liaise with senior staff members;
  • Self-starter with strong dedication to the development of finance functions; 
  • A good knowledge of budgets, forecasting and general financial elements;
  • A strong understanding of reconciliations and interpretation of financial information;  

NICE TO HAVE 

  • Either higher education and /or professional experience. 
  • Previous management accounting experience would be preferred; 
  • Experience of working in a deadline-driven environment; 
  • Conscientious and keen to develop; 
  • Ideally having experience of working with Xero accounts package.
  • Managing a monthly payroll cycle
